The Fund For Philanthropy (TFFP) and Securiport LLC formalize Strategic Partnership and launch $75 Million (US) “Campaign to Help Contain Ebola”

The Fund For Philanthropy (TFFP) and Securiport LLC, the global leader in biometric immigration control systems, are raising $75 million (US) to support the fight against the Ebola virus in West Africa by providing advanced biometric screening technologies along with comprehensive contact tracing data analytics to help governments and health organizations more effectively monitor and control the spread of the virus, mitigate the health risks and decrease the economic impact. The partnership has aligned with West African nations to help contain the Ebola virus using Securiport’s Epidemic Control System (ECS), a proprietary software that, working in tandem with the immigration systems, helps in tracking passengers who have recently been in or near the affected regions.

This strategic partnership allows any donor, foundation, or corporation a strategic giving mechanism for helping to contain the spread of the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa.  Donors can make tax-deductible donations to TFFP for the distinct purposes of orchestrating their charitable wishes to fight the spread of Ebola through this campaign. Currently, Securiport immigration systems are operational in Sierra Leone, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Equatorial Guinea, with new implementations in Liberia and Guinea pending activation. In addition, Securiport is seeking advice from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) personnel on the ground where the Ebola viral disease is active. TFFP and Securiport will work closely on a number of joint efforts on a national and international level.

“This new relationship allows our donors and clients the ability to leverage their charitable gifts to address a critical need in West Africa,” said TFFP Chairman and Executive Director, Tony Suber. “Our donors are eager for us to work more closely with global industry leaders like Securiport to put in place long-term solutions and strategies to not only address Ebola, but infectious disease containment wherever outbreaks may occur, well into the future.”

“Intelligently addressing the spread of Ebola is of paramount importance to the already fragile economies dealing with Ebola in West Africa,” said Securiport’s Executive Vice President of Business Development, George Canovas. “Closing these borders will further compound the deterioration of these economies. By using Securiport’s intelligent immigration profiling tools and adding immigration checkpoints at land borders, we can provide data to governments that will assist them in making rational decisions about potential high-risk Ebola carriers before they enter or exit the country. This new approach shifts the current containment approach from reactive to proactive.”

About The Fund For Philanthropy:

Founded in 2012, The Fund For Philanthropy (TFFP) is an independent nonprofit charity that is a donor advised fund sponsoring organization. A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving vehicle, which allows an individual, family or corporation to make an irrevocable, tax-deductible contribution of personal assets to a public charity, and at any time afterward, to recommend grants to qualified charitable organizations. Donor advised funds are administered through a public charity that pools donors’ contributions, invests them according to the donors’ investment selection and makes grants to charitable organizations upon the recommendations of donors. TFFP engages high net worth donors and provides them with charitable giving tools and resources to assist in their philanthropic and fundraising efforts globally.
